These terms govern your use of CarparkShark at carparkshark.com (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The service
CarparkShark publishes estimated busyness information for car parks across the United Kingdom. The Site is provided free of charge, on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.
Acceptable use
You may use CarparkShark for personal and non-commercial planning purposes. You agree not to:
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Site or its servers;
- use automated tools to scrape the Site at a rate that imposes an unreasonable load, or in a way that breaches the Open Database Licence terms that apply to the underlying map data; or
- use the Site in any way that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.
If you would like to make substantial use of the underlying car park data, please go directly to OpenStreetMap — that is the source, and OSM has clear terms for bulk use.
Intellectual property
- The design, layout, page templates, and original written content of CarparkShark are © CarparkShark.
- Car park locations and many attributes are © OpenStreetMap contributors and are made available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL).
- Busyness predictions are produced by CarparkShark from typical usage patterns; they are presented as estimates only.
No warranty
CarparkShark is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. In particular, we do not warrant that the Site will be available without interruption, that the information shown is accurate or up to date, or that a car park you find listed will be open, available, or have spaces when you arrive. See the Disclaimer for more on the nature of the predictions.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CarparkShark and its operators are not liable for any loss, damage, cost, or inconvenience arising from your use of, or reliance on, information shown on the Site — including but not limited to missed appointments, parking fees, fines, or onward travel costs. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
